A Meditation for the Earth

🌎 "The Universe is asking you to confirm with yourself whether you would like to serve the Earth, to save the Earth, be a sage of the Earth. Earth—the sustainer, the Mother of you, which nurtures you—can you nurture it back? That which serves you, can you serve it back?" - Yogi Bhajan

Yogis often speak of Ahimsa, the principal of nonviolence towards all living things. If you don't already, I invite you to include our Earth in the same category of living things. Please consider giving up the use of plastic and make a serious effort to recycle and reuse materials, include these practices and others as part of Ahimsa. Simply making the decision to discontinue the use of disposable plastic makes an impact over time.

I have the privilege of holding kundalini yoga and meditation classes on Saturday, April 22nd, Earth Day, at Yoga Secrets in Kennett Square so we will be connecting and nurturing the energy of the Earth though the Isht Sodhana Mantra Kriya.

"The Isht Sodhana Mantra is a perfect mantra for the Earth energy. It connects the Earth and the vastness of the ether and projects it from the heart." (3HO.org)

The mantra is "Dhartee Hai, Akasha Hai, Guru Ram Das Hai." If you'd like to join in, you can find the instructions here.

My favorite version of this mantra is "Dharti Hai" on Miracles Abound by Jai Jagdeesh which you can find on Spotify. 🙏🏼🌎
